Year 2

Welcome to Year 2, where every child is encouraged to shine brightly, to develop a love of learning and most importantly to have fun.   Our class teacher is Miss Peerman. 

We learn through our Catholic Social Teaching value of Everyone is special, that we should treat every person the same way we want to be treated.  The voice and ideas of everyone in our class is important and celebrated.  The children are encouraged to show kindness in a gentle way that reminds them that they are all beautiful and important, just as they are.  They are made by God and have great value.

In Year 2 we run a flexible timetable but every day they will have maths, maths mastery, spellings and phonics, reading, writing and R.E.  Our foundation subjects are covered through our themes and topics.  Hands on experiences and practical learning always come first before we record our learning.  By the time the children leave Year 2 they will be independent learners who are confident to access a wide range of resources that support their learning.
